Camping has been on your mind since the weather is nicer and spring is peaking through. But other than the KOA campsites or the RV hookups at your local lake, where are some great places to camp during the spring?
Did you know that you could camp at Disney World? You can! The Fort Wilderness Resort and Campground can save families hundreds in resort room fees. You can choose to tent camp OR bring an RV. They even have cabins to “camp” in, if roughing it isn’t quite your style.

Fort Yargo State Park
From fishing to 3-day Junior Ranger camps, and disc golf to nature hikes, this Georgia park is the perfect place to tent camp with a family. It’s one of 13 different Georgia parks that participate in a special program called the “First-Time Camper Program.”
Yogi Bear’s Jellystone Camps
Jellystone is a chain of family-oriented camping and RV sites that have grounds that specifically cater to parents with young children. Between the organized activities and on-site water park, there won’t be any time for complaining about being bored.
As you might guess from the name, Lake Rudolph is found in a Christmas-theme named town known as Santa Claus, Indiana. Like Jellystone camps, Lake Rudolph is family oriented and has multiple outdoor activities, such as mini golf, a pool with water slides, and organized events like movie nights. While you’re there, you can even catch a free shuttle to Holiday World theme park.
Fun Valley Resort
Nestled in South Fork, Colorado, Fun Valley is a hidden family gem that’s fun for every age. It’s convenient to tubing, hiking, fly fishing, and has paddle boat rentals along with miniature golf. If square dancing is your thing, they have that too! Although there aren’t sites for tents, you can bring your RV or rent one of their cabins.
Don’t Go Unprepared!
Every camper needs to pack the essentials: including sunscreen, cooking utensils, and even a fold-up chair. You might be hiking all day long, but you’ll need a place to kick your feet up and relax at the end of the day.
